New Blog Series

0

Ok, so today's blog is just an introduction to a whole series to come. Since I do so many Lush reviews, I have decided to do a series on them called 'Lush According To Me'. I will add my current Lush reviews to the series (Candy Mountain, 5 Gold Rings, Shoot For The Stars and Twilight).
Obviously, I won't be able to post new entries 3 times a week but I will try to do one or two every weekend. I have quite a stash of Lush products in my room, waiting for me to write a review on so it will be a series that goes on for a looooong time! If, for whatever reason, in this period of time, I do not review a Lush product that you would like me to, feel free to comment on any of my posts and I will reply ASAP!
I hope you like this new, upcoming series and what products it may unravel. Please comment below for any bath bombs/bubble bars etc. that you might like me to review. Also comment on what you think of this new series idea!
Thank you,
Bye for now!

Twilight Lush Review

0

You guessed it, it's time for another Lush review for you to feast your eyes upon. Yet again, unfortunately, I dropped the bath bomb into my bath without taking any pictures, and I pulled the plug out without taking any images of the final results, so the pictures used in this post were taken from the Lush website - I am not taking any credit for them.
This time, it's the 'Twilight' bath bomb from Lush. It retails for £3.50 here in the UK, a price which I am very impressed by as it is one of, if not the, largest bath bomb that I have seen/bought in Lush. Because of this astounding price and size, I was expecting good things from this bath bomb.
Let's review Twilight's looks and scent first before moving onto it's melting moments in the bath. I've already stated its impressive size - the top of which was decorated, as shown above, with a moon and several stars. On mine, I could also spot a smear of bright blue within the bath bomb so I knew that this bath bomb would turn the water purple, whatever shade. As well as the blue and pink, there were a few hints of yellow dots in the surface of the bath bomb. Twilight itself smelt very relaxing and therapeutic, true to what Lush says-'The fragrance has been designed to help you sleep: lavender is a soothing, mind-clearing and calming fragrance, used in aromatherapy to treat insomnia and aid restful sleep, while benzoin and tonka call to mind a milky caramel malt drink' I agree with this, I definitely felt sleepy and relaxed whilst in the bath, inhaling the luscious scents. I got whiffs of vanilla and lavender that were not as subtle as some of Lush's other products but still not overpowering.
In the bath, the pink fizzed away for a while, creating layers of foaming froth and turning the water pink. Eventually, the blue started to come through, gradually turning the water a lilac-purple. After looking at the Lush website, I realised this was to link with the title of the bath bomb-Twilight. The colours are supposed to represent the night sky changing from pinky-reds as dusk to dark purples as the night grows longer, the hints of glitter in the bath bomb also link to this-representing the stars in the night sky. I really liked this idea, although there was some glitter left in the bottom of the bath tub for me to clear up.
Overall, I really liked Twilight, it seems as though a lot of thought and time went into the design and concept of the bath bomb, all of which really shone through when the bath bomb was put into action. It lasted quite a long time-around 10 minutes which was another bonus so I'm going to rate this an 8.5/10. I definitely recommend you go and buy this bath bomb, especially if you like to have a long relaxing soak in the bath in the evening. It would also be great if you don't use whole bath bombs and only break a bit off at a time as I imagine it would last quite a while.
So what are you doing still reading this? Hop on over to the Lush website right now and get your hands on a Twilight bath bomb!
Thank you,
Bye for now!

Happy New Year!

0

It's 2016! I can't quite believe that 2015 is over already - it went really fast and it doesn't feel like spring is only just around the corner! Although 2015 was full of lots of fun, celebrations and memories, I can't wait for 2016 and what surprises there may be in store.
One of the things that I am looking forward to most this year is the Olympics. I can't believe that it was almost 4 years ago that I went to watch the Paralympics in London. The 2012 Olympics was certainly a good one for the Great British team, coming third and getting 65 medals in total, hopefully we can beat that this coming year!
I haven't really come up with a New Year's resolution yet, only the classic, 'I'll keep my bedroom tidy' one that lasts about a week before becoming a huge mess yet again. Do you have any New Year's resolutions? What were your highlights of 2015? What are you looking forward to in 2016 and beyond?
I hope you have a very happy and healthy New Year and 2016!
Thank you,
Bye for now!
